ABOUT ME

25 Apr

Nowadays, it’s not very easy to grow up into a woman. We have been constantly  taught, almost bombarded, with ideals of what we should be at every age in our lives: “This is what you should wear at age twenty five”, “That is what you must act like at age twenty”, “This is what you should be doing when you are seventeen, etc.” But amidst all the many voices that bark all these orders and set all of these ideals for women today, I give you this blog – not a personal style blog, but the study of one girl’s world.

I share it all with you here – the failed attempts, the experiments, the successes,  what I read, where I travel, what inspires me…

What I really love about them… – clothes, books, trips  ? It is the fact that they contain someone’s personal history…I find myself wondering about their lives. I can never look at a coat or a book  without thinking about the person who owned it/who read it. How old was she/he? Did she/hework? Was she married? Was she/ he happy? I look at those ‘vintage lookin’ places – like Venice, Rome, etc., and I imagine a woman standing there, wearing her equisite shoes,  rising out of them or kissing someone…

This is why, dear readers, this blog is all about empowering women – to give them the  fashion without the frills, to give them the desire to travel  because there is a whole  world out there, waiting, just waiting for you,  waiting to walk the rain-soaked streets of London, and drink mint tea in Casablanca,  to wander the wastelands of the Gobi desert, etc.. ; the desire to read books which are not just about passing time, but books about other people’s lives, other worlds, because books are the plane, and the train, and the road, they are the destination, and the journey.
